How Raw Juice Helped Cure Cancer

How Raw Juice Helped Cure Cancer

I had to share this inspirational story, about how raw juice helped cure Karen’s cancer. She is a strong lady and a fighter. Did you know the food you eat has an impact on your health? Are you aware that an unhealthy diet can promote serious illnesses?

Karen’s story supports the fact that you must look after your health. That includes eating a healthy diet and getting enough exercise.

Below is Karen’s story, taken from her website: Raw Vegan Queen

My name is Karen Massey, also known as Raw Vegan Queen on Instagram and Twitter and Facebook. I am a 46 year old raw vegan. I am also a breast cancer survivor. I have two children Melissa and Denver.

Two years ago, I was a processed food junkie. I loved full fat cheesecake and did no exercise. I smoked and drank and was feeling pretty low about myself, my weight and my mindset. The picture above at my daughters graduation is a prime example of the way I looked. Then I got a massive wake up call when I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer.

After having the cancerous lump removed, I was told that the cancer had spread further into the breast and I needed a mastectomy. I went on to have my right breast removed and was then told that even this hadn’t gotten rid of the disease. It had now spread into my rib cage. I was told by my surgeon that I now needed a six week recovery period in bed and that on my return, I would need to have my top two ribs taken away on the right side, to give the surgeon easier access to the cancer in order to remove it.

It was in this six weeks that the magic happened, with the help of my daughter Melissa. Whilst I lay in bed, my daughter lay beside me with a laptop whilst we researched alternative ways to beat cancer.

We trawled the internet for relevant information on beating cancer with nutrition, which led us on to read the China Study and watch films such as Fat Sick and Nearly Dead and Forks over Knives. From this information, I decided that nutrition played a massive part in disease and what was happening to me. As I felt too poorly to eat during my six week recover period, I immediately bought a juicer which came with the Jason Vale juice fast plan.

The next day, my daughter brought me my first raw juice, followed by six more, every day, for 6 weeks. I can’t be sure how other people feel whilst recovering from a mastectomy and believing that cancer was still inside their body, but I genuinely think that I didn’t feel as bad as I could have. I also took 6 x 100mg Vitamin C capsules each day.

After this time, at my follow up appointment, I had all the relevant scans to check on the progress of my cancer before deciding on the next steps. Can you imagine my absolute joy to be told my cancer had gone? It could not be found on the scans. Obviously both the surgeon and I were in shock as this was not expected. Where had it gone? The doctors could not explain it, but I could. The cancer had most definitely been there, six week prior to my juice fast. As you can imagine, I now fully believed in the power of the plant!

I was recommended to have six weeks of chemotherapy, followed by radiotherapy. I now believed so fervently that what I was doing was helping to cure me, that I refused chemotherapy in favour of a raw vegan lifestyle. I did however have radiotherapy every day for 2 weeks. I am now 2 years cancer free. The other picture above shows me after my raw/vegan transition.

That was Karen’s story. For more information about her and raw juices, visit her website.

    • Hi Donna,

This article was taken from Karen’s website http://www.rawveganqueen.com/about/. I shared it because I found it really inspirational. She has lots more information on her website about raw juices, smoothies and the vegan diet. However, I have asked her to reply to your comment.

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it 🙂

  3. Hi June,

This story is really incredible. It makes me thankful that over the years I have changed my eating habits. I just to consume a lot of processed snacks but now opt for fruits instead.

Like Karen and her daughter, I try to look up alternative ways to treat and prevent health issues. I would just rather eat more veggies and take a multivitamin than prescription drugs with all these crazy side affects.

This is truly an inspirational message. Thanks for sharing it. I hope all who needs it finds this post.

    • Hi Lea,

When I read Karen’s story I just had to share it. I changed my diet a few months ago as I was getting headaches from eating things like bread and rice. Plus bloated stomach after eating anything with wheat in it. The thing is, I’ve had that problem for many years and didn’t realise it was my diet that caused it. My daughter and I did some research, cut out a lot of junk food and changed our diets. It helped a lot. Now we eat lots of vegetables and fruits plus enjoy delicious smoothies. I feel so much healthier. Plus we’ve both lost weight.

Karen’s story is like a miracle. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 🙂

  5. My mother fought cancer by drinking raw juice and going on the Gerson diet plan. She drank lots of carrot apple juice sometimes with ginger and also green juice with kale, romaice and apple. She took lots of vitamin C and other herbs as well.

She was given a month to live by her doctor, but was abe to live for 2 years after. She was 70 with advanced matestatic cancer that spread to her bones, so it wasn’t likely she would beat it completely, but she was able to slow it down enough to have more life.

Helping care for her inspired me to take better care of my own health. I eat lots of veggies and much less processed sugary food. I don’t juice often right now because it reminds me of that time, but when I can I juice.

    • Hi Leah,

Thanks for sharing this inspiring story about your mother. The power of vegetables and herbs are amazing. I’m glad to hear that she was able to prolong her life for another two years.

Like you, I’ve been eating a lot of veggies and drinking more water and green tea lately. Natural food is full of goodness. I feel so much better healthwise. We also tend to drink a lot of smoothies made from fresh fruits. They’re absolutely delicious. I’m planning to buy a juicer because I know the health benefits of juicing.

I appreciate you sharing this encouraging story with our readers. Have a good weekend Leah. 🙂
